The Tailbone Podcast: Marjolein – Patient
There were a lot of occasions where doctors and therapist
send me home with the message that there was nothing
they could do for me anymore and without any advise for a next step
Our guest in this episode is Marjolein

Marjolein was pregnant of her second child when her tailbone pain started end what followed was years of a lot of pain and restrictions. The path of finding adequate treatment led to strong deperation and even suicidal thoughts. Her tailbone problems made her inable to work for a long time and in the end change her job, and restricted her strongly in sports and her social life.
She saw a variety of doctors and therapists that mostly were not able to answer her questions and help her and left her with nothing more then: ‘we unfortunately cannot help you anymore’. She really had to find her own path to specialists in the field and shares her story in what she learned along the way, and finally found the relief she was looking for.

In this episode you will learn again get the expert view from the patients perspective and I think a lot of people suffering from tailbone problems can relate to her story and maybe find recognition and comfort in her experiences.

Bonus
One of the striking things we specialists in tailbone treamtent run into and we talk about in this episode, is that imigary being done for tailbone pain, often doesn’t include the tailbone… I saw several examples of this before and Marjolein was so kind to share her MRI scan where clearly the most interesting part is missing and is in between where the arrows are.

This might be helpful for any patient to compare to your own imigary if you have access to that and see if the problem area is actually shown on it.
