Our guest in this episode is Grietje vander Mijnsbrugge

Grietje was born in Belgium and graduated as a medical doctor at the University of Brussels. After moving to the Netherlands she became one of the co-owners of the Proctos Kliniek, an expert clinic for people with anorectal problems that has several locations in the country. For a lot of specialised healthcare professionals that you will hear in these episodes and including me, Grietje and her clinic are the referral place for a medical check of tailbone problems. She treats she sees al kind of patients here that suffer from mainly chronic pain in the anorectal area and also a lot of patients with tailbone pain. Next to her consultations in the clinic where she advises patients with tailbone pain and administers local corticosteroid injections, she performs complex anal operations and tailbone resections. In the last years she saw over 1500 patients with tailbone pain and performed over a hundred tailbone operations.

In this episode we will dive into her approach and experience and as you will notice, her approach is beyond what she learned in her several medical trainings. She always takes into account the complete patient and aims to give them ’the doctor that I would like to have myself in this situation’. We touched a lot of topics and it became a very rich conversation about the topic of tailbone pain.
